I was taught to crochet when I was young by a family friend and did it off and on through high school. I picked it up again with a vengeance when I moved overseas and have never stopped! I currently teach ladies in a poor community to crochet, but I also crochet for the pure enjoyment and creativity it gives me.
Living in the Dominican Republic means I have limited availability to yarn. Most yarn that I can find is either crochet lace thread or size 3 or 4 100% acrylic yarn....not that that is a bad thing, but sometimes a person wants to work with something else! So, I have started ordering yarn from online. I will leave all the information for you to be able to order the same yarn in the blog post associated with it. Because sometimes, even with access to lots of yarn, you want to try something new or something special! If you find some special yarn, feel free to tell me about it!
"Round 89" is my crochet business based here in the Dominican Republic (website coming soon!). I focus on bags and baby items of all kinds. I use cotton, bamboo, acrylic and a mixture of those most of the time, but I do use other things from time to time. I chose yarns based on their wash ability, durability, project and lastly, color. Feel free to look at the "My Yarn Choices" page for a more detailed description about the yarns I use for each project on my blog and YouTube channel.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoy this blog!
